New Movie Releases - Friday September 14

There is a whole bunch of new releases this weekend. Most of them look pretty damn good too. Take a look at this weekend's new releases...



The Brave One - starring Jodi Foster as a woman who was mugged and beaten nearly to death while her fiance was killed during this attack. Finding there is only one way to deal with this tragedy and that is vengeance. Terrence Howard is the cop that is trying to catch this vigilante. Looks pretty damn good even though I am not a big Jodi Foster fan.

Mr. Woodcock - starring Billy Bob Thorton, Sean William Scott and Susan Sarandon. A young man (Scott) returns home to find out this his mother (Sarandon) has become engaged to his loathsome former Phys Ed teacher Mr. Woodcock (Thorton). It is not his job to stop this marriage from happening. I laughed my ass watching the trailer to this movie. It looks pretty damn good!!

Eastern Promises - starring Viggo Mortenson and Naomi Watts. Mortenson plays a crime boss who leads Watts' hospital midwife in the search for the reasoning behind the death a prostitute. Looks good as well.



The Hunting Party - starring Richard Gere and Terrence Howard as wartime reporters who are out to find the a Bosnian Warlord. Things become complicated when they become the hunted.



Across the Universe - starring Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess in this musical featuring Beatles music. About a young man who goes to the US in the 1960s and falls in love.



In the Valley of Elah (Limited) - starring Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron and Jonathon Tucker. Jones is father who is investigated the suspicious death of his son in Iraq.




Silk (Limited) - starring Michael Pitt and Kiera Knightly as the wife of a silkworm smuggler (Pitt) who becomes involved with a concubine as his business affairs take him to Japan.




Fierce People - starring Donald Sutherland, Diane Lane and Anton Yelchin. A Bohemian New Yorker (Lane) and her son (Yelchin) take a billionaire anthropologist (Sutherland) up on his offer and relocate to a remote region of South America. At first thrilled with their new surroundings, a troubling event causes Liz to reconsider her life, her recent choices, and her future options.



December Boys (Limited) - starring Daniel Radcliffe and Teresa Palmer. A group of boys leave their orphanage and head to the Australian coast where they here of a family that might be interested in adopting children.



Ira and Abby (Limited) - about a couple who get hastily married and have to deal with affairs and life of a unhappy marriage.


Dragon Wars: D-War - based on a Korean legend, this movie, filmed in the US by a Korean director, is about two dragon led armies who are out to conquer the world. While two Americans with a time spanning connection may be the only ones to stop it.


Moving McAllister - starring Ben Gourley, Mila Kunis, Jon Heder and Rutger Hauer. A young law intern chooses to move his boss and his niece across the country to score points with him instead of taking the bar exam.
