New Movie Releases - Friday April 18

Here are the New Movie releases for this Friday April 18...

Expelled: No Inteligence Allowed- staring Ben Stein and Jason Collett. This movie follows Ben Stein as he seeks to determine whether religious based Intelligent Design / Creationism is a pseudo-science trying to undermine evolutionary biology or whether it is legitimate science being suppressed by a scientific establishment that is hostile to any deviation from the status quo. Along the way, Stein is told that evolutionary biology is responsible for the Holocaust, Stalinism, and the Second World War, and that only religion based alternatives such as Intelligent Design / Creationism and the intervention of a god can adequately explain the existence of life.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - starring Jason Segal and Kristen Bell. Peter jets off to Hawaii for a vacation that is supposed to help him deal with his recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend, Sarah. Little does he know Sarah's traveling to the same resort as her ex ... and she's bringing along her new boyfriend.

88 Minutes - starring Al Pacino. A college professor who moonlights as a forensic psychiatrist for the FBI receives a death threat telling him that he has only 88 minutes to live, causing him to scramble to stay alive while he tries to learn his potential assailant's identity.

The Forbidden Kingdom - starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan. A discovery made by a kung-fu obsessed American teen transports him back to ancient China, where he joins up with a band of martial-arts warriors in order to free an imprisoned king.

Pathology - starring Allysa Milano and Milo Ventemiglia. A group of medical students devise a deadly game: to see which one of them can commit the perfect murder.

Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? (Limited) - Morgan Spurlock tours the Middle East to discuss the war on terror with Arabic people.

The Life Before Her Eyes (Limited) - starring Uma Thurman. A two-tiered dramatic thriller centered on Diana, a wife and mother whose idyllic life begins to fray as she recalls a tragic, 15-year-old event which claimed the life of her best friend Maureen; running parallel to this story is another tale, that of the younger Diana, who is dealing with her strained relationship with Maureen, the tragedy itself, and the mystery behind the crime.

just saw Expelled, Ben Stein's goal in making Expelled (i gather) is to promote free thought, especially more thinking about motivations that drive American academia and a lot of other behind-the-scenes worldview that we tend to take for granted.
