New DVD Releases - Tuesday April 8

So we have Zombies, the Loch Ness Monster, some Cox and Tom Cruise...a wide array of characters and looniness. Good week in DVDs. Check them out!!


New Releases


Day of the Dead - starring Ving Rhames and Mena Suvari. When the world is overrun by the flesh hungry dead a small group of survivors head to an underground military bunker in a last ditch effort to stay alive.



Lions For Lambs - starring Tom Cruise, Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. Injuries sustained by two Army ranger behind enemy lines in Afghanistan set off a sequence of events involving a congressman (Cruise), a journalist (Streep) and a professor (Redford).


Music Within - starring Rebecca De Mornay and Ron Livingston. The true story of Richard Pimentel, a brilliant public speaker with a troubled past, who returns from Vietnam severely hearing -impaired and finds a new purpose in his landmark efforts on the behalf of Americans with disabilities.


P2- starring Wes Bentley and Rachel Nichols. A businesswoman is pursued by a psychopath after being locked in a parking garage on Christmas Eve.




Reservation Road - starring Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo. On a warm September evening, law associate Dwight Arno and his 11-year-old son Lucas are attending a baseball game.Driving his son back to his ex-wife, Lucas' mother Ruth Wheldon, Dwight heads towards his fateful encounter at Reservation Road. Resurrecting the Champ - starring Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Hartnett. Up-and-coming sports reporter (Hartnett) rescues a homeless man only to discover that he is, in fact, a boxing legend believed to have passed away. What begins as an opportunity to resurrect Champ's story and escape the shadow of his father's success becomes a personal journey as the ambitious reporter reexamines his own life and his relationship with his family.

Sharkwater - Sharks Die. People get Rich. This movie details the unintentional adventures of a biologist when his nature documentary comes up against big money and corrupt bureaucrats.



There Will Be Blood - starring the Oscar Winning Daniel Day-Lewis. Daniel Plainview and son are independent oil men, looking for prospects in California at the turn of the 20th century. They are challenged by a young preacher, Eli Sunday, whose own ambition is matched by Plainview's. Their battle forms the center of a scary, darkly-comic historical journey into an abyss of madness.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - starring John C. Rielly and Jenna Fischer. The up-and-down-and-up-again story of musician Dewey Cox, whose songs would change a nation. On his rock 'n roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries three times, has 22 kids and 14 step-kids, stars in his own 70s TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to the Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to - and then kicks - every drug known to man; but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon and eventually earns the love of a good woman - longtime backup singer Darlene.

The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep - starring Ben Chaplin and Brian Cox. When a lonely young boy named Angus discovers a large, mysterious egg along the shores of Loch Ness, no one is prepared for what lies within. He soon discovers that the strange, mischievous hatchling inside is none other than The Water Horse, the loch's most mysterious and fabled creature! But with the Water Horse growing ten times its size every day, Angus finds it increasingly difficult to keep his new friend a secret.

The 11th Hour - narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio. A look at the state of the global environment including visionary and practical solutions for restoring the planet's ecosystems.
