It is so sad that people would want to live longet then we already do -for to die is gain and to live is pain and suffering. One of the things she said was "life is all we know and that is perhaps why we cling to it so much", but we know what is to come after this life! We have the word of God the Bible- and it lays out very clearly the bigining and the end of life! When we die we will ether go to heaven or to hell- God has given us the choice to accept the free gift of Salvation and go to heaven or to reject this gift and go to hell! The choice is ous and no matter how far we run or try to avoid death- God is in controle and the end will come! We should spend more time concerned with where we are going after death and less time trying to avoid it! Heaven is going to be wonderful- no pain, no sorrow, no sin, so why run away from it?
In response to comment made April 1, 2008 @ 9:19pm - What’s sad is that you cannot seek the love of life within you to not want to pro long it. Whether you die or you live, religiously the Lord is still with you. As for the commented “life is all we know and that is perhaps why we cling to it so much”, I ask this, how do you know for sure that the word of God is true, that Heaven exists? You do not know this for fact, and unless you may communicate with the deceased I don’t understand that you could know for sure, that there is life after death. As well to know that whether or not you will go to Heaven or Hell. But we do know that life as it is now, exists, so why would you want to pass on with no guarantee of anything after death? Another thought, Yes, God may be in control, however if he did not want us to live longer lives, he would not have allowed those finding a way to live longer to find a way to do it, or to even have the ingredients on earth to be able to do it. As well as far as I know, the bible does not state that living a longer life or prolonging your life is a sin! I do believe though, that the Lord has asked that you take care of your body and taking care of your body ….right there is prolonging your life!
