New Movie Releases - Friday December 7

It is now December and some big releases are coming out. This looks to be an interesting one with the first big movie of the December season, which is...

The Golden Compass - starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Dakota Blue Richards. In a parallel universe, young Lyra Belacqua (Richards) journeys to the far North to save her best friend whom she fears has been kidnapped by a powerful and secret organization.

Atonement - starring Keira Knightly. Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister's (Knightley) lover of a crime he did not commit.

Revolver (Limited) - starring Jason Statham and Ray Liotta. Ex-con and card shark Jake Green (Statham) enters into a dicey alliance with two mysterious men in order to bring down the gangster (Liotta) responsible for sending him to prison.

Grace is Gone (Limited) - starring John Cusack. A father (Cusack) takes his two girls on a road trip to Florida, a vacation in which he hopes to find a way to let them know that their mom isn't coming back from her military assignment in Iraq.


The Walker (Limited) - starring Woody Harrelson. An escort (Harrelson) who caters to Washington D.C.'s society ladies becomes involved in a murder case in order to protect his closet client and her husband from the ensuing investigation.

The Amateurs (Limited) - starring Jeff Bridges and Ted Danson. A man (Bridges) in the midst of his mid-life crisis somehow convinces the residents of his small town to come together and make an adult film.


Juno (Limited on Wednesday Dec. 5) - starring Ellen Page and Michael Cera. Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual and bizarre decision regarding her unborn child.
