New Movie Releases - Friday October 5

So not a whole lot of new films this first weekend of October, but maybe a few worth seeing...

The Heartbreak Kid - directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly and starring Ben Stiller, Michelle Monohan and Malin Akerman. A newlywed (Stiller) regrets marrying his wife and ends up meeting the girl of his dreams (Monaghan) while on his honeymoon. Looks pretty funny, might be worth checking out.

The Seeker: The Dark is Rising - starring Alexander Ludwig, Ian McShane and Christopher Eccleston. The life of young Will Stanton (Ludwig) is turned upside down when he learns that he is the last of a group of immortal warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of the dark. To be honest I haven't heard a damn thing about this movie.

Feel the Noise - starring Omarion Grandberry, Giancarlo Esposito and Melonie Diaz. A young man from the South Bronx (Grandberry) dreams of making it as a rapper, until a run-in with local thugs forces him to hide in Puerto Rico with the father he never knew (Esposito).

My Kid Could Paint (LA/NY) - Marla Olmstead, Mark Olmstead and Laura Olmstead. A look at the work and surprising success of Marla Olmstead, a four-year-old girl whose paintings have been compared to the likes of Picasso and have raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Finishing the Game (Limited) - A mockumentary based on the real-life events that followed Bruce Lee's death while he was making the film Game of Death.

The Good Night (Limited) - starring Martin Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Penelpe Cruz. Depressed by his idling relationship and meddling career, Gary (Freeman) takes an interest in the practice of lucid dreaming, with the idea that he can romance the beautiful woman (Cruz) who appears to him while he sleeps. When his live-in girlfriend Dora (Paltrow) grows tired of her beau's new pursuit, she jets off to Italy, allowing Gary to fully immerse himself in his imaginary life.

Lake of Fire (Limited) - starring Noam Chomsky. A graphic documentary that illuminates the spectrum of the abortion debate.

Kurt Cobain About a Son (Limited) - starring Kurt Cobain. Previously unheard audiotaped interviews with the late Kurt Cobain illuminate the artist's troubled life and explosive career.

So that's it for this week. Hope you enjoy!!!!
