It has been a long time since my wife and I had gone to a movie. So since the movie theatre here sucks, we drove into to Saskatoon with the boys and went to a movie there. Nice big screen, comfortable chairs, everything you could want in a theatre experience, besides the amount of money we spent. We needed to get away, a nice family time together. Health scares will do that to you. That's another story though.

The Game Plan (2007)
We decided before we left that we wanted to see a fun, family oriented movie so we chose The Game Plan. I am glad we did. This movie was really quite enjoyable to watch. Even my 15 year old enjoyed it which surprised me.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays Joe Kingman, football superstar and ladies man who finds out he has a daughter, Peyton, from a previous marriage that ended 8 years before. Well this sends his life into turmoil but after making a few mistakes here and there, a few bumps are hit in the road, the big football game is coming up, but things work out, eventually. This is by no means a brain teaser but it was cute and funny. Not much more you can ask for from a Disney movie.
Johnson is good in this movie. I have always liked his movies and this one is no exception. It is a step away from his normal action stuff, but he does really well and it is good he is trying to stretch his acting chops a little.
Madison Pettis, who plays Peyton, also does a fine job. Johnson and Pettis play well off of each other and their relationship is believable. You felt like they were family which made this movie that much more enjoyable.
If you want to take the family out, take them to The Game Plan. You will all enjoy it. The kids will enjoy it. Most importantly, enjoy each other.
Enjoy the movie!!!
